The origin of names: Cole McReid (Patreon)

I decided to make posts about my original characters (OC). To be more precise: How I chose their names.
This time I'll explain the name origin of Cole McReid.

His first name "Cole" is a tribute to a good friend and loyal supporter aka patron.

His family name "McReid" is a reference to the game "Vampyr".

In the game you play as doctor Jonathan Reid, who is transformed into a vampire. Unlike most vampire stories, the game considers vampirism from a medical point of view. An infection that changes the body, mind and behaviour.

So you try to keep your sanity by trusting in your intellect and doing good or you follow a more animalistic and cruel path by bad choices. Overall the main quest remains: What is going? And who transforms people during WW1 in London into vampires?

While most civilians believe, that the Spanish flu makes people go crazy some others know the truth. One of them is Geoffrey McCullum.

He is a smart vampire hunter who does not give up his quest and doctor Reid is on his list of suspicious individuals.

Among fans Geoffrey and Johnathan are shipped. This fanmade romance is called "McReid". I also sensed the potential for a good romance in the game. So I drew fanart in the past.

In the real game you get a mega boring straight romance with Lady Assburn.
I think her actual name is Ashburn, but I call her Assburn. And I am not kidding: that straight romance is as stiff as a wooden stake. -_-
Forget that boring cow Johnathan, look for Geoffrey!! ^^
