EURODANCE

Have you ever heard about Eurodance?! In the early 90´s of the last century this was the name for a style of music, that was very popular and produced in Europe. Nearly all known music styles were used to create tracks, that sounded... Well, let´s say unique. Techno, electronic music, folklore, everything was put together, like an experiment. The lyrics of the most songs were very simple, but catchy.

How did this happen?! I can´t tell, but I can guess. Growing up in the 90´s I heard a lot of Eurodance and TV channels were full of animated series from all over the world. I watched "Heidi", "Batman", "Sailor Moon", "Gargoyles", "TMNT" and so much more. The internet and home computers and Photoshop became part of daily life step by step. There were new influences and opportunities for many people. No matter if you were a creator or consumer. Eurodance somehow captured these feelings and that the world started to become more digital and connected.

Watching/hearing the old Eurodance tracks today makes me laugh out loud. You can´t tell if it is a parody or not and some songs are just weird. The good thing about all of them is, that there weren´t things like "shitstorms" and people had much more courage to try things, which tend to be embarassing on todays point of view. After all I have three songs for you to check. Be warned this content is entertaining and super weird! XD

Track 1 infos: Edelweiss is a flower in the alps and "Speck" means bacon.
