Patreon has a new option to set the payment to subscriptions.
Usually all patrons are charged at the first of a month.
That's the regular payment cycle.

New patrons are charged at the day, when they join Patreon.
If that date is the 30th day of a month, that new patron will be charged again one day later, which can be unfortunate for some supporters who stricly manage their finances.

With the new subscription option each pledge would count for one month, based on the day of joining Patreon. For example 30th-30th.

But Patreon does not recommend subscriptions for creators who manually share their rewards, like I do.

I had to think things through several times to understand their recommendation.
And I think I found the answer.
I'll explain:

I release a new Artpack between the 5th and 10th of a month.
The download links expire at the end of a month.
If I would release new Artpacks on the same date each month, that would be my disadvantage.

Example: Regular Artpack release at the 7th of a month and someone subscribes at that date.
In that case that patron would always receive two Artpacks by pledging only for one,
because the subscriptions system counts for one month.

According to Patreon patrons expect a subscription system, when they pledge. I don't know if this is true or not.
The main problem is, that once I activate the subscription model, I can not switch back.

So what's the actual deal of this post?!
I know that several patrons support more than one creator and as a patron myself, I have also received several of these "activate subscription" messages within the past days.

I just want to request your understanding, that I have not made my final decision yet considering this new option.
I will think about it again thoroughly and I'll inform you about my decision later this month.
