a sketch is rough and drawn with a pencil-like brush. The lines have a low opacity. When they overlapp, they become darker and thicker. You can look at my sketches to see at which parts I struggled, changed parts or erased lines. A sketch also has a variation in the thickness of the lines, depending on the pressure while I draw. Some lines are very thin, others are "fat".

The lineart is drawn with a pen-like brushtool. Like the traditional ink in comics it replaces the sketch lines with clean ones. The lineart has a much lower variation in the thickness of the lines. Shabby parts in the sketch, with multiple lines, are replaced with one clean line that fixes unclear parts. A lineart sets things in stone and it is the basic for colouring.  Linearts are smooth and sharp at once and you will not be able to see, where one starts and the other one ends. They flow. They bring unity and harmony, when well drawn. Linearts are black.

Compared to other artists my sketches reached a pretty high level of quality. The reason is simple: A precise sketch is good for working. If I would draw a very sketchy sketch, it would take me a lot of time to fix all the unclear parts and mistakes. And (downscaled) sketches are the only free  content of my art. I need their quality to promote myself.

Just imagine you would be a blacksmith: With good metal and tools you can work faster and better, as with bad material.

I am going to add some pictures to my commission area on my tumblr to show the differences between the stages of a drawing.
