Information about Sales Tax (Patreon)

Hello everyone,

on July 1st a new law about Sales Tax will go into effect.
Patreon offers a sample text, which you can read above, but I prefer to explain the changes myself.
A Sales Tax is an extra fee on all sold things. The new law is for digital goods in the USA and several other countries. In the European Union this tax on digital goods exists since 2015. That means there will be no changes for patrons who live in the EU.

How does a Sales Tax work?
Each country in the world has a different Sales Tax.
Patreon will add the tax based on your home country to the tier price and pay that tax money directly to local governments.
