Lately I’ve been quite worried about time delays and optimization to make my work faster. The obvious cut in the project in order to gain some speed is 2K, which is a quality downgrade I’d be more than happy to take if I was a user, but I thought you guys deserve a saying on this.

So, the question is simple. Should I keep going with 2k renders (2560x1440 px) or should I downgrade to Full-HD (1920x1080 px)?

To help you take your decision I’ve rendered one image in both resolutions. It’s straight out Daz3D without a single minute of Photoshop in it, so it’s a fair contest. This also means that the end result would be better in both cases after postproduction.

Full-HD (1920x1080):

Just for reference, keep in mind that the 2K render took more than double the time the Full-HD one needed to complete.

For me Full HD if it makes your life easier. You can always go back to 2K once the project has more Patreons and you can upgrade your equipment!

Alright, it seems that the results speak for themselves... I'll find a way to downgrade to Full-HD and integrate it with the game engine then :). I'd still like to go back to 2K at some point but I guess for now speed matters. Thanks to all of you who participated !
