Transparency First (Patreon)

Following the post from a few days ago I have further news. Unfortunately v0.4 must be pushed into august. This month I needed to do a ton of background stuff (since it is included in v0.4 & v0.5) and it took a LOT of time. Haven’t taken a single vacation day yet and I’ve worked hard as ever, but a day only has so many hours. What I’ve done:

Character design:

• Mayor, has been designed from scratch, including details, personality and wardrobe.
• Mayor’s Son, Idem.
• Really bad guy (No Spoilers), Idem.
• Mission1 Characters, police guys, “your team”, random fill characters and bad guys
• Random bad guy for another scene
• Angel-looking cute escort girl
• Random club guy
• Valet (fancy name for bouncer)

Outfits:

• Romanov’s corrupted Casual
• Romanov’s corrupted Pool
• Romanov’s fancy dress
• Romanov’s bad corruption Suit
• General Miller Casual
• Maeda Casual

Environments:

• Agency Penthouse
• Maeda’s Gentleman club (double configuration of furniture and lightning)
• First mission huge environment (Indoor and Outdoor). No spoilers.
• Suburbs, Behind Mei’s bar

I’ve also been learning and practicing a few techniques to give more detail into 3D models giving them that real-life touch they usually lack.

Aside from that, I’ve managed to render half the scenes I had planned for v0.4 (including half of Mission1) and designed the GUI for Characters, Missions and Duties.

Sadly it’s fairly obvious that I won’t be able to finish what’s left and assemble it all into Unity in less than a week. Choosing to push it into next month is no fun for anyone (including me) but it is the lesser evil. I know it’s less than ideal not to have a version this month, but keep in mind this is work that must be done at some point, and it is better if it gets done with some effort; instead of just a bunch of outfits and characters that don’t match the atmosphere.

As compensation, next month’s version will be free for everyone. Everything that’s been done and everything that I’ll be doing since release will be merged into a 0.45 unique version that, this month only, will be released for free. This will be the last public version released for a while so it’s a good opportunity to make something valuable as this patreon’s first impression.
