Cassandra Strikes! (Patreon)

The sassy Unit 02 pilot from Neon Genesis Evangelion is here, and there's no Idiot Shinji or Lance of Longinus in sight!

Aaaactually, it's Cassandra cosplaying as Asuka, not an actual furry version of her. I figured this image, which was a poll winner from the start of March, wouldn't be done until at least April, but here we are. This is the first time I've ever done a fully-rendered image of a mecha, and I feel pretty good about how it turned out. I looked off of multiple references, but nothing was traced. My main goal was to illustrate a sense of scale and depth with the looming EVA-02, which has a height that is said to vary between 40m and 200m (130ft - 660ft) in the original series, depending on the shot.

I have watched the original series (and EoE) a few times and consider myself a fan. The "Rebuild" series... not so much. I tried to apply a bit of the show's style to how I drew Cassandra, particularly with her eyes, sharp chin and the 90's anime style of thick black lines.

Cassandra has been in a bodysuit before, though the image was never finished (attached). I suppose this is the spiritual successor of that. If people like the mecha theme, I'd be open to doing future pics involving them.
