Comic: https://www.patreon.com/creation?hid=1484698&rf=369938 “My Precious…” no no no, this is not a Lord of the Ring parody. This is a short comic about memory. Before I start talking the comic, I want to talk a little of myself: In my real life, I don’t like travel. I remembered when I was young, although I did have some trips such as graduation trip with my family or friends, I can find little joy in them. I don’t know why. Maybe it was because going elsewhere with no particular purpose other than sightseeing just don’t interested me. Maybe it was because I never really like group trips and I only like to go other places freely instead of following the schedule of the group. Either way, I find that traveling means little to me and I don’t wish to be involved in any travel plan unless necessary. However, I still had some joy and laughter along the way. It was not because of sightseeing, nor did it came from the local foods or entertainments. It was came from the time I spend with my friends and classmates. In a matter of fact, I can barely remembered any of the memory of sightseeing, local foods or entertainments, all I can still remembered is the fragments of joy that I shared with the friends that time. So, let’s get back to my comic. Here, what I want to convey is that what’s important is not the entertainment in the theme park, it’s the interaction and the delights you shared with your loved one. The necklace’s worth is not lie in its shape or appearance, it lie in its function of helping Rarity recalls the fond memory. Other fact: 1. I actually referenced the actual Disney theme park for the ticket price and possible restaurant cost. After doing so, I concluded that I may never want to walk into a theme park. 2. When I first designed Rarity’s precious box, I was tend to make it dedicated and well-decorated. But I later cancel it and draw a simple one. Because I think although character-wise, well-decorated is more suited for Rarity’s characteristic, I think that would contradict to what this comic is about. 3. In my original concept, that necklace is actually a magical item that help the holder preserve the memory. That’s why I mention Zebra in my dialogue.
