Get outta my brain! Wait. Don’t. Stay in there, please. The myths of the Tuatha De Danann are my absolute favorite on the planet. You said Niamh and I lost it. My eyes started to leak and I said Oisin the same time you did. Bless you, dear man. When Stacey and I recorded for the podcast last week, we were talking about Neverland and I told her about Tír Na nÓg and Oisin and how he was told he could leave and visit home but he couldn’t touch the ground or he’d die because of how time passes between the worlds. My heart! Dude. I can’t. So beautiful. This weekend has been really weird and this just made it 100000% better. My mythology geek heart is so full at this moment. My friend, you are magic.

Such a wonderful story 💗 and hearing you cry made me cry, as well. Also, all this makes me think about how life can be so unpredictable and how our plans can change, so fast, just for an accident.... It makes you think that the person you truly love may get hurt in unpredictable situations and you may lose her/him in a few seconds, and there's nothing you can do to change all that, when it has happened. So, this makes you understand how important is to always show your own feelings to a special somebody, when you know she/he is the right one for you. Never hide your true feelings inside you, even if it takes a lot of bravery to overcome the pain from the past; because it may not be sure you'll have a second chance to tell a special somebody about your own, true feelings. Life has to be appreciated every day. And so it shall be towards the person you love 💓

*wipes tear* Okay so where do I start? There's too much feels in this one! The mini heart attack I felt at the beginning tho, I was like Oh my did she fall? You're breathing and sound effects makes me feel I was there too, climbing on the mountains. I love how my imagination run wild in this one, I mean as always but this one is on a different level! The plot twist, how you describe the whole place. Tir na Nog is so beautiful atleast on my imagination. From playful to panicked, gleeful to grief-stricken, romantic to relieved... we all know you're versatile, but we rarely get such a range, so organically woven together, in a single audio. Oh wow dear sweet Gael...what an emotional roller coaster you took us on and yep I felt misty eyes to when you were crying I thought oh what’s that sound...ahh it’s my heart breaking 😢. I remember first hearing of Tir na nOg while watch the movie Titanic, when the Irish lady realising there was no hope for her and her children she tucked them into bed told them to close there eyes while she told them the story of Tir na nog the land of eternal youth and beauty... still gets me every time. Technical question; given how committed you are to authenticity, how’d you go about the foley for getting into the saddle? The creaking leather and the stirrup sounds are spot-on! Does this mean you have a saddle set-up on a sawhorse in your recording studio?? Well-done on a variety of fronts! And the extended version forthcoming? You’ve got folks anticipating that more eagerly than kids on Christmas Eve!

I wasn’t familiar with the story of Oisín and Niamh, so I did a good, ol’-fashioned Google search and found this website: https://www.shamrockgift.com/blog/folklore-friday-irish-mythology-love-stories/ For anyone curious, the tale of Oisín and Niamh is the 4th entry on the list, but the other stories are really interesting, too. Yet one thing you’ll notice if you read through them is that the endings are all really depressing 😕 I know that many fairytales are actually quite grim, and most people are only familiar with the "Disney-fied" versions. (For example, the tale that Sleeping Beauty is based on is quite appalling 😧). And since several folktales and myths are meant to teach life lessons, the fact that at least some of them would have unhappy endings isn’t too surprising. Perhaps we’re just so used to love stories having a happily-ever-after that reading one with a sad ending feels a bit like running into a brick wall. One nod to the tale of Oisín and Niamh that I didn’t pick up on until a few hours after listening to the audio was the passage of time for the listener’s character. In the audio, it seems like she’s only in Tír na nÓg for a few minutes (certainly less than an hour). But when she wakes up, she finds out that she’s actually been in a coma for <i>over a week</i>. In the Celtic myth, Oisín spends only 3 years in Tír na nÓg, but discovers that 300 years have passed in Ireland during that time. He’s devastated to learn that his family and friends are long gone, and...well, the story just goes downhill from there. As I was listening to the audio, I tried to think of how I would feel if I’d just woken up from a wonderful, magical dream that actually turned out to be a week-long coma following a presumably serious injury. <i>"Where am I? Why are you crying?...hang on, I’m in the </i>hospital?<i>...I was in a coma?!...Holy shit, am I okay? How badly was I hurt in that fall?...Wait, what’s this on my finger?...No way...did you actually- I mean, we should probably talk first about...oh, how bold of you to assume that I’d say yes after you let me fall off a freakin’ cliff! At least let me find out if I have any brain damage from the impact before you start picking out table settings for the wedding reception!"</i> Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the romance aspect of the audio, and I love a good happy ending. But knowing that Irish myths tend to be grim made me feel like my reaction to the "waking up" scene was normal 😝 (Also, it was super sad to hear you cry at the end, so I just pretended that you got into character by having your brother kick you in the nuts before you started recording ☝️🤓)

Where do I even start? This hit my notifications over 12 hours ago but I've been putting it off until bedtime. I'm not good at waiting! But I had work and family stuff to do and I could tell this was something I needed to wrap myself up in my blankets and immerse myself in. It was a supreme effort but it was SO worth the wait. I'm crying, I didn't even realise - I've been needing an emotional release, clearly! Beautiful work. Absolutely beautiful. I love the story of Tir na nÓg the first you told it years ago. One of my favorite stories. I'm so glad that this had a happy ending. G this was beautiful. You had me all in my feelings I'm thinking about the story and Tir na nÓg is like heaven. The horse was an angel and I wouldn't want to be alone but a soul not meant yet to cross over well they have to go back the white horse or the angel knew that and sent me back the only way it knew how. That's my take on it and if I woke-up from a coma and my beloved asked me to marry him I'd say yes and screw the dress and all the fancy shit. A wedding is about a bride and groom no one else and the love they share. I almost died. We almost lost each other. Get the hospital chaplain. They usually are busy consoling and praying with people giving last rights, let's give him something joyous to do for a change. Marry me NOW. My love. Not a second more go by that we are not husband and wife.

Irish mythology is so incredibly rich and interesting, I really appreciate you teaching us through the medium of storytelling. I love that you’ve incorporated the details from the original myth like the white steed and the unique passage of time. I definitely was not expecting that twist! Your crying makes me cry 🥺😭😭😭 this was such an emotional journey. It made me so sad that in her vision of paradise she imagines you both together, that’s true love 😭❤️ Tír na nÓg sounds like such a magical place, which you captured so beautifully with those immersive sound effects! But there’s also such a bittersweet element, a paradise at the cost of reality. I love that you portrayed that in such a fair and balanced way, just like in the original story, there’s always a cost. Oisín ultimately realizes that living in paradise is unsustainable in the long term, which results in a tragic and profound lesson. I went back to listen to your Tír na nÓg audio from years ago and it’s so beautiful and meditative! Your great storytelling skills were always there 💚🍀 I can’t wait for the continuation of this one!! It truly is like a cinematic experience, no one is doing it like you! Bravo!! 👏🏼👌🏼❤️💚

WHOA! What a scary moment! I got chocked up and thought if this ends sadly, I’m gonna be SO MAD! This reminds me of the time that I was supposed to come to Ireland years ago, to Castlebar. My small team and I were invited to compete and represent in the World Martial Arts Games, which I was SO looking forward to! It was right up there with the Olympics! My only mission on that trip; kick ass and bring home a bottle of the best Irish Whiskey I could find! (Maybe even meet a handsome Irish man)☺️ The trip didn’t happen because of a messed up travel plan that got way too expensive. I took out a loan just so I could go, and even thought of going on my own! But I didn’t want to go without anyone I knew with me. I traveled alone before, but never overseas. I don’t know if I’ll ever get out to Castlebar, Dublin, or any part of Ireland, but should the chance come again; hell or high water IM F**KING GOING!!
