Had no grips with the original design, but honestly I'm feeling this one. (Not for the obvious reason, being genuine here)

I get what you mean. There's was nothing 'wrong' with her original design, but I felt things could be pushed further. Make her look more like a martial artist, more like a fairy, more whimsical, etc.
