Today we're talking about making Sophie's short film Body of Work, which she co-wrote and co-directed with her sister, and Alan produced and assistant directed (we'll get into what that means.)

Come with questions for a first-time director, many-th-time producer, and a healthy skepticism?

I am just watching this the first time aaaand ADHD tip for whoever needs it and that I only learned recently (this goes for normal brains as well but for ADHD brains especially): strong emotions, hyperfocus, creative thinking and basically everything that makes the brain work overtime uses up resources. If you are at a con or a concert and you have a really really good time but the next day you feel like you are depressed and are unsure that you even enjoyed yourself, that's a bit like a hangover. ADHD brains need more resources in general (if your blood test says you are low on something but not in an insufficiency yet, be assured that neurodivergent people are in the middle of an insufficiency already) so to us this happens more often and quicker. What you need during times of overworking your brain and after that is lots and lots of protein and maybe vitamin supplements. But mostly protein. Every time I had a great time and feel like crap afterwards I am doing a protein heavy week and it helps. (protein based diets are generally good for adhd brains, but who the hell is supposed to do that when you already have a problem with impulse controle?! XD ) There are recent studies to this topic but I don't have them at hand. But it's a safe thing to try out if you don't have another condition that prevents you from consuming protein.
