The other day I was painting a tapestry in my living room and had one of those time-dilation experiences where I didn't know how I found myself in that particular moment. I've been working full-speed on this yucky valentine party for the past 6 weeks and I have so many bts pictures of what's been going on, but precious few of these spare moments to process them. The projects are ambitious, and totally on schedule.

After giving ourselves some time to decompress from the Halloween Party, maybe a month or so, Sara and I began soft-balling plans for what we could do next, and when. We have been making rolling choices every since.

We wanted to throw a big, weird party/interactive art installation, but everything costs money. Venue, serving booze in a public space, lighting and sound reinforcement, performers, promotion, art supplies, everything costs so much money. So we crowdfunded it. (Bravely tbh, this has been a somewhat high-risk endeavor.) We made a music video with information about the party in text overlays, & offered art prints and stickers and a good time in exchange for the funding we needed to make the whole thing happen.

We rang out our Kickstarter last Monday at $1886/$1500--which is still so wild to me ($120 of that is from y'all, thanks ;) ). How wonderfully humbling and inspiring it is that it worked-is working. Performers are locked in, tickets are purchased--our friends are flying to fbx to play the show--we are waiting on the event permit to process for the bar, the venue is paid for, the posters are up, the stickers are in, the fine-art is nearly complete. We are almost finished with 3 of 5 of the roughly 4'x6' hand-painted tapestries. AND I had my friend Devante come over and show me how to do a photo emulsion on a mesh screen a couple of days ago to see if I can't pump out some screenprinted scrap-kitsch.

Thanks for being a part of the art tornado, y'all. I'll post those pictures for you soon, one project at a time. For now, here's a picture of the poster and a couple of the patches that I used to promote the kickstarter on instagram--& a screenshot of the funding goal, still $85 from the end.

ALSO, you are all on the guest list, as well! Already paid for. Just give them your name at the door. If you backed the kickstarter, you'll get the shiny sticker and whatever arty rewards you paid for as well. :) Thanks all.
