Hello--

How are you?

I've been scraping by a little bit in every way this month, but there is much joy to share. I borrowed what feels like a communal drum kit from some friends months ago and finally set it up, reorganized my music space (which means reorganizing all of my furniture), and have been playing guitar again. Another friend of mine is learning to play the drums, so that we can scream and crash and be loud together. I miss live performance, and playing music with other people. I have all of the pieces I need to use my vocal pedal now too, which has been fun. The attached audio is a quick take of me practicing a cover of the song Glass Ceiling by Metric. No drums yet, but soon.

I've been getting pretty good at this mosaic crochet technique. I am cranking out a ton of headbands and neck gators and my most ambitious project right now is a shawl. It's soft, and warm, and feels good on my fingers.

This year's seed starts are looking fine. The old Nasturtium seeds are duds, but the Morning Glories and Mimulus are taking off. I dug my bike out of the snow & ice today and picked up some new tubes for my tires. It's sitting upside-down on my porch right now, melting and drying in the sun, ready to be serviced.

Summer will be here very soon. Very very soon.

Oh man it sounds so good with drums. Thank you. Glad to be making time for music again. Have you started a new project yet?
