I’ve been working on a couple of projects this month. One of them is this mask process. A coworker/collaborator stayed late at work a couple of Wednesday’s ago to help me cast my face (again). This time, with closer attention to the brow and cheek bones (we are learning). I poured more plaster in the mold this time to get the proper depth, and I discovered that cold cream works even better than petroleum jelly to get the plaster cast off of skin and hair. Mostly because it’s not, completely hydrophobic I think. It just moisturizes, aggressively.

I sanded and sealed the face (my face—weird) with mod podge, mixed with neon pink acrylic ink, just for fun. I’m on the second layer of plaster for the base, hoping to hit the paper mache this weekend. ~~

Blacklight art is a lot of fun. It's like I'm painting *secrets*, with an on/off switch.
