I made this playlist in early March last year, when the euphemism "social distancing" was first entering the vernacular. A friend shared the idiom "A camel is a horse by committee" with me around that time, and it seemed astute. Returning to this playlist recently, I've been feeling nostalgia for the waves of calm anxiety that were just beginning to wash over the stability in my life early in the pandemic. So much has happened since then. The world continues to shift and unfold at a dizzying pace and all we can really do with any plug of confidence is choose to shift with it and adapt to the rhythm day by day. As far as I can tell, we've all grown immensely as a community in our ability to handle uncertainty and support those we care for in the ways that we can. I've said facetiously "I didn't ask for this timeline" many times over the past year, but honestly, if we could differentiate and choose such things, I think this was a fine place to send my star stuff.
