The Pulsing Glow Stick - Oscillating Luminol Reaction

In this video we create a glow stick that pulses light. To this we first dissolve 37mg of copper sulfate in 100mL water. In a separate container we dissolve 3.6g potassium thiocyanate, 1g sodium hydroxide and 0.2g luminol in 200mL of water. This solution is stirred until completely dissolved.

This may be a dumb question, is it possible to make a oscillating chemical reaction that catalyzes itself and will continually cycle forever or does there have to be a point at which one chemical is depleted. I'm asking more theoretically

anything that continually produces energy. like light, HAS to stop eventually. Even the universe.
