About the Update

This update was to swap out some features, and give them a little update so they work better with future updates and new features by EA.

This includes changes for the new Sims Delivery recipes and My Wedding Stories recipes.

You can check the changelog linked at the top of this post for all the information about this update.

Snail's Snail's Snail's

Brought to you by Kamidus, you now have some interactive snail additions to your game. We worked together to bring you some fun new features for your new critters.

First up, there is a new optional Add-On file included in the SCCO download for "Shelly" the snail stuffy. Shelly is a plush toy snail (as pictured above) that can be interacted with by all ages! This item can be found under the "Kids Toys" section of build/buy.

Next, we have snails as a collectible. You will be able to go out into the world and look for snails to collect. Snails can be found in the logs that spawn randomly in some worlds (as pictured below).

After your sim has found a snail you will get a notification, and a "Snail Terrarium" will be found in your sims personal inventory. This Terrarium can be placed in the world and has the following interactions:

  • Take Ingredients - This will delete the terrarium and place 6 "ingredient" snails in your sims personal inventory.
  • Enable Emotional Aura - Will provide the "Inspired" aura.
  • Name - You can name the Terrarium.
  • View - Sims will walk up and look at the terrarium.

Using the "Take Ingredient" interaction on the snail terrarium will give you the new ingredient snails. These have two functions: Plant or Ingredient. You will be able to place the snail in a planter or on the ground to "plant" it. This will give you a new plant called "Wildgrass: Snails" (Special thanks to KingZace for his help) which is a way for you to cultivate snails at home (as pictured below).

aside from the harvested snails, you will also be able to buy a "Can of Snails" while shopping for groceries. These new cans can be found under the "non-perishable" section.

You will be able to use the single can of snails or the harvested snails as ingredients in cooking the new custom gourmet recipe "Escargot". This recipe requires level 2 Gourmet cooking and can be found on the "Make Custom > Gourmet > Appetizer" menu.

Menu Changes

I wanted to explain the new changes to how the ingredients show in the new menu changes for SCCO. I was asked to swap to this method to make it easier for people to understand what each serving size a recipe requires. This feature was added to the game during Cottage Living but I never really found the need for it. But thinking about it further, it felt like it would be the best way to go since not all creators use the same ingredient counts as SCCO.

All EA/SCCO recipe menus will now look like this when you open them:

Any recipe that has 1 serving will show ingredients directly in the menu (Example: Tikka Masala Pizza, pictured above) recipes that have multiple servings can be clicked on to expand to see what each serving size requires OR you can hover your mouse over the recipe and it will tell you the single-serving ingredient requirement. (Those new to SCCO, it always uses 1 of each ingredient per serving [1/4/8/12])

Srsly Good Eats Take-Out Delivery

Not Included in SCCO, you can download it HERE.
With this new mod, you will be able to order deliveries for all EA and SCCO custom foods (if SCCO is installed) from the comfort of your sims home! If you are interested in getting your food delivered, go check out the post for more information!

UPDATES from 4.7.0 to 4.7.1

/ Fixed startcrafting menus to allow you to be able to see ingredients with the Simple Living Lot Trait active on your lot.

/ Fixed the "Craft Cooking Ingredients" startcrafting menu not being locked on lots with Simple Living Lot Trait active.

I can't cope with how cute that lil snail is!!

hi hello, i know this is strange but is it possible to use collectible snails / snail terrarium without the rest of the mod? i understand if they're tied together. lots of love a snail enthusiast xxx

SrslySims

I could look into making this standalone for those that want to use it outside of SCCO. Just they won't have an ingredient function without SCCO, it would just purely be collectable.

moxie

That would be perfect if possible! SCCO is truly wonderful but just not for me in the end. But snails, well, snails are my loves. I'm more than happy to commission you for this, if that's a thing you do :) There's also a mod creator who made the frog collectibles feedable, and his tuning is free to use.

Thank You!!
