It's finally almost that time guys. I finally feel like SCCO is in a good place. So it's time to re-overhaul all of the EA recipes.

This month, I will be working on remaking SCCO, including all EA recipe changes over from scratch. During this I will adjusting prices, removing some redundant files, and yes. Finally setting up to make a required ingredient version of the mod.

Edit: This major rework of SCCO is going to take some time. It will be my primary focus for the month. This month's update will include the base changes I have made thus far for testing purposes. More info when it gets closer to the end of the month. I also am updating all spreadsheet resources for scco. This includes a compiled list of all ea recipes with included changes, ea customs list, ingredient shopping lists, etc. Note to creators: Some tags will be changed. I will have a note for what changes in the spreed sheet. Most tags will remain the same.

So, now is the time to let me know of anything you want to see changed to SCCO's EA recipes changes and custom recipes.

Are there any recipes you would like ingredients changed for?
Are there any recipes you would like to see made at home, that currently can only be obtained by other means in game that I may have missed?
Is there any issues (not price related) that you have seen with recipes?
Any other suggestions you'd like to see for scco are also welcome, mainly just after recipe adjustment suggestions tho.

If possible, I would love it if I could still made food from the stalls. Since using your mod, most of my food stalls only sell produce now. I can not try any of the EP Snowy Escape food from the stalls.

SrslySims

Hum, I'll look into this. There should be no reason for that since scco doesn't change any recipe that is involved with foodstalls. All food stall items that I have made for home are brand new recipes. But I'll see what's causing it!

Can we make the pastries that that you buy at the Cafe like the croissants, pain au chocolate, cannoli or the scones? I could have just missed it; but I have never seen the option. If no,t that's would ike to suggest. Maybe even adding chocolate croissants. Yum 😋

I love the sound of this! A while ago I was actually working on an edit of your mod for myself that made it so that all ingredients were required in order to cook but everything was free to make (since you’d have to buy the ingredients), but I gave up because I wouldn’t have known how to keep up with the updates. If you could make a version of this I’d be sooo soo grateful, I love this mod - its an essential for me😊 Thank you for all your amazing work

Hi, thank you so much for adding items to quick meals. I was wondering if you could add garden salad, fruit salad, and maybe avocado toast to that list for our veggie sims? Those would be perfect quick breakfast items before work or school. Thanks again!

SK360

Not sure what happened, but the baskets for the grocery mod are not working for me. I have to manually add the produce to the baskets.

Tootz1011

Can there be more soul food and southern style food added.

Simlanii

I know we have instant oatmeal in the game, but is it possible to have a recipe to be able to cook oatmeal and cream of wheat on the stove?

SrslySims

Yes, i will make more custom recipes over time. I'm looking for answers currently about existing features :)

SrslySims

I have a public suggestions thread in my discord as well as a recipe inspiration thread. If you ever want to suggest recipes to me. At this time I'm not looking for new recipe ideas, but I will keep it in mind. :)

SrslySims

I assume you are meaning the "Make by Type" addon? If so, sure I can scooch those recipes over to veggie catagory too :)

So you are looking for examples of recipes where (for instance) the recipe clearly contains chicken but chicken is not listed in the ingredients? That sort of thing? I think I've seen this occasionally but I can't remember which recipe. Will let you know if I run across it. Btw i like the idea of having required ingredients if you can make it work. I find I never order groceries anymore because it's just not necessary and I would like to get back to that, to make the game more realistic. Thanks for everything you do!

SrslySims

Yeah exactly what I'm looking for. Recipes that should have different ingredients or added ingredients. I will be adding the req of needing more that 1 item for everything. But things like a chicken recipe missing chicken is what I'm after. :)

Ooooh!!! Can exotic dishes be added? Or like a fancy petit meals or something? o: Either way, can’t wait! :)

Exotic like fish pate or something lol a charcuterie board, maybe?! Tiny meats or something? 😂

Thank you so much!

Love this mod! Maybe some more vegetarian or Vegan recipes? I don't feel currently the base game offers a lot of choice.

"Finally setting up to make a required ingredient version of the mod." I've been doing a playthrough with a bunch of mods that add more difficulty and realism to the game, so reading this made me really excited. For now I've just been keeping myself from making stuff I don't actually have the ingredients for. I do have a few questions regarding the update: - Is it possible to have increased ingredient requirements depending on serving size, or is that something limited by the game engine? Right now, a serving of 8 requires the same amount of ingredients as a serving of 1, with the only difference being how many simoleons they cost. - Regarding price adjustments, I find that gardening is still pretty lucrative even with SCCO's reduced harvestable values. Is there a possibility of a further reduced value variant of the mod at some time in the future? If not, is there any way to make a self-edit of the mod so I could adjust costs manually? I have experience creating mods for other games, but not the Sims. I'm not familiar with what tools are typically used for it. - IDK if this is a bug or simply a game limitation, but one thing I noticed with the grocery store is that packaged items can't be directly bought from the displays, only single items. I know It might be kind of silly, but I like walking around the store and manually buying things in order to add to the realism a bit. - This idea may be outside the scope of the mod, but would it be possible to create a moodlet where your Sims can get tired of a certain food if the eat it too many times within a certain period? Adding an incentive to have a varied diet could be an interesting addition. Sorry for the long post. Thanks again for the amazing mods!

SrslySims

So lemme start off at the top, so I dont miss anything. 1. Yes, it is possible to have increased ingredient requirements depending on serving size. BUT, only the single serving ingredients will be visually shown. Which causes a lot of confusion to some people when they go to make another serving size and it takes more than it says it does. I have tried this in the past, and ended up with way more questions about it then understanding. 2. Harvestable Price Adjustments were removed a LOOONNNG time ago after a patch that broke them. (Hope you arent still using it.) I have thought about brining back this file as a stand-alone mod, but I wont add it back directly to SCCO, once again. Cauesed issues of people not reading... If you would like to DM me your ideas on pricing. I'd be happy to hear about it. 3. Uhhhh you should be able to buy packaged items not singles. I do not have this issue in my game. So if there are packaed items you cannot buy. Please DM me and list them out so I can double check. But this might be because of using old files. 4. This is a super neat idea. I can look into it. :)

1. Ah, that's understandable. I've just been spamming single servings as a work-around for the time being so it's not too big of an issue. 2. That would explain why the prices were different from the spreadsheet you had posted, lol. Most of them were in between the modded values and the default values, so I figured the list was just out of date. 3. I DM'd you with more details about this.

Thank you so much for your amazing mod and hard work. I love everything about it, and my vampire sims like having menu options other than fruit salad and booze.

Charmbird

Such an amazing post & effort. You are so very much appreciated. I am most excited about the "REQUIRED INGREDIENTS" aspect. Gotta make those sims WORK!😜

You are amazing ! THANK YOU!!!!!

the rice isn't working in my bbq pit I am using rice from icemun and I got it in the fruit bowl u put storing it still don't register rice not even when in my inventory. and marshmallow should be needed on campfire so they can stop auto that too also can u used any to include brazenlotus harvestable wheat, rice, milk, eggs too as well.

SrslySims

Campfire marshmallow isn't actually a recipe. Yeah, I know. Doesn't make since to me either. But thst is how ea made it. I'd have toake a standalone marshmallow recipe. As for rice, make sure you have update icys rice harvestables. I believe she added the tag. As for brazen, you'd have to ask her to add the tags to her items. All recipe and harvestables creators have to add my tags manually to their creations.

Anonymous

ok, imma redownload the rice but I can not wait for this mod it is one of my favorite mods, and been waiting bc when I play ethnic races or so so I want them to only cook what they have ingredient food. brazen posted they fixing the tags so happy for that as well. I am a little mad at the marshmallow thing that is ruining my game because they eating that and not the fish before it spoils. can u make a clone without it or the veggie and hotdogs attach? also is it possible to have clone fake animals, like sheep, pork and so so so it looks like I getting meat from them I am using the meat shelf I so t like I am smoking meat now with the cow and chicken thank you.

SrslySims

I can so look into making a marshmallow campfire fix, was originally why I made a marshmallow ingredient but I wasn't a recipe so I was like 'meh'. tbh it bugs the crap out of me too. As for animals for harvesting. I'll look into this one day, as of this moment I have no plans to. Since I would want to do that right. Having just deco animals would bother me. Maybe one day I can find someone that wants to collab to make functional animated animals for it.
