Hi everyone!

The Big Tank project is picking up speed! I keep underestimating how much work is to make progress on this beast but I'm enjoying every second of it. In this video I added the cannon (at last) and added the tilt mechanism and the ball conveyor and ball revolver that feed balls into the cannon. The ball feeding system is a hybrid from the last two ball launcher builds as the revolver separates the ball hopper from the airstream and gives a constant launch rate and the conveyor can feed balls in line at an insane speed.

As you already know I cannot make anything not huge and the large cannon was a bit of a struggle for the turret base plate but I reprinted the side wall in one part and that seemed to give it enough rigidity. I keep forgetting that the entire thing is made of plastic.

The turret is still missing the hopper for the balls and I have bought a few switches, lights and levers to add proper controls for the turret on the sides of the seat so I can operate the turret while driving.

I'm debating myself about wether or not add some kind of fairing or cage to the driver seat as I want to be able to easily bail in case of trouble. We'll see.

As always leave your comments down below and let me know what you think. Thanks!!!!

3D PRINTED TANK GETS A CANNON - preview

Looks awesome, can't wait for the field test. Does the cannon only support fully automatic fire, or will you eventually program it to also be able to fire a single shot?

Ivan Miranda

To support single shot I would probably need to add an encoder to the revolver and swap the Brushless motor for a stepper or a geared brushless motor but yes, could be done. Cheers!

Ivan, years of development sure have payed off. I looked back at the beginning of the tank and all the iterations to get to this point. Congratulations job well done.
