NERF BAZOOKA! (Patreon)

Hi everyone!! 

I made a Nerf bazooka!! I know you won't tell anyone so I'll tell you the truth, I was messing around with canon concepts for the tank and I came up with this. I think this is safe enough to be mounted in the tank and use it around people (not shoot at people, just use it around people) and I think automating reloading is feasible. You may have thought that I forgot about the tank but I didn't, it is just that any decision I make has enormous time consequences, it'll be back.

For this build I used a PVC pipe, I bought it in a local plumbing shop, they have them in 5m pieces and I asked the guy to cut it to 3.5 meters. What a mistake! I have an Opel Vivaro (Vauxhall Vivaro?) a van, and it took me to disassembly and recline every seat on the van just to fit this inside. The darts are massage foam rollers with a disc sander Velcro disk and a polishing foam disk. 

I had to cut a hole to load the darts which was a little bit more difficult that I anticipated but ended up being pretty accurate. 

The trigger mechanism had me head scratching for a bit but once I had lunch everything was easier to solve. The original mechanism was pushed to release by the plunger, the new mechanism is pushed to lock by the plunger and only releases by pushing the trigger with the strength of a hundred humans (I need two hands to press the trigger). 

I needed a way to rewind the two tensioner strings, I thought of using pulleys, springs and the lot but it ended up being easier, just a string and two rubber bands to catch the two lines back inside the pipe.

The performance is a bit lousy because the darts weigh a ton and I only have so much strength. In the future when this is mounted in the tank it'll be tensioned with a geared motor and will be more powerful. 

I had a blast with this one, and the cherry on top of the cake was testing it, it sounds dangerous, and the recoil keeps surprising me.
