Hi everyone!!

I was in the shop a few weeks ago and the wifi router broke, the phone company came and I set up the same credentials as before in the new router but my old led clock wasn't working so I decided to use that as an excuse to make a new better one.

The Arduino support for the ESP8266 has come a long way since my last build and everything has been way easier this time software wise. I used a NodeMCU this time which connects directly with a micro usb cable to the computer, the previous one required a programer board with a special (Serial to USB) cable. There's an Arduino library that automatically enables a hot spot mode if it cannot connect to the stored credentials and allows you to add new wifi credentials through a web interface.

The new design made easier to weld the strips and to install the strips reliably in the clock and everything is more polished. The back covers are bolted on and the light diffuser is just one piece that is also held in place by the led base. I got the sensation that the time invested in the 3D design and the previous experience payed off in the form of simplicity at the time of assembly.

I'll leave the code on my website and I'll also put the 3D parts on my store and I'll leave here on Patreon a 100% discount so all of you that want to make one can get your copy for free.

Painting the diffuser with a whiteboard black marker would make the clock easier to read on camera but I can assure you that in real life it looks incredible and I don't want to mess how good it looks painting it.

As always leave your comments down below and thanks a lot for your support!!

Cool. Did you ever do a video on the giant YEAH!? If so i think i missed that one. When is some more giant Tank action coming our way? Has Colin Furze eaten up all of the world of tanks ad budget? :-P

Ivan Miranda

Yes I did, a looooooong time ago, it is one of my first videos. There's more tank coming, tank skateboard, big tank and tank weapons! Everything takes sooooo long to print 😂😂 I got myself into this though...
