Hi everyone!! I finally got to make another iteration of the skateboard tank, I had to make a few improvements from the previous design which seem to have paid off. I switched from chains to HTDM5 belts which allows me to do single stage reduction and direct drive to sprocket to minimise the failure points on the system. That in combination with the sensored motors makes this a very good solution.
The one thing that I wanted to try the most is the steering mechanism, in theory it had to work but it is really nice to see it working in real life. I've made too many changes to the design and now the holes on the sideplates are not good anymore so I'll use this version to check clearances and redesign those too. 
In the next iteration I'll try to make it as narrow as possible as this is obviously toooo wide. Now that I have a working version I can check clearances and improve that.
