Hi everyone! As I haven't finished the Mega Nerf Gatling gun video, here's an update on the print status of the big tank. I'm waiting to have at least the entire bottom printed to make a new video but we aren't still quite there. I made quite a Meccano for myself there, that thing requires hundreds of bolts for assembly and once assembled I won't be able to lift it from the ground. I'm starting to realise the size of the project I got ourselves into 😂

Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!!!

Great work Ivan. It's coming along nicely albeit slowly. So next shop addition will be a block and tackle? Cheers, JAYTEE

Did you consider to use 2020 Extrusions or similar for bigger parts, I would imagine this would speed up things a lot. I don't think anybody would copy an project with 1000, 2000? Hours of printing this would be 100 days of pretty much nonstop printing on an single machine.

Such a great idea. I've done some minor modeling with 15mm extrusion inserts through 3d printed parts. I like the idea of thinking of the extrusion as the more rigid/strong part of the design, and then using 3d printing for everything else. extrusion can slot into 3d printing so easily, why not use this and even some simple acrylic or other sheets for the more mundane panel pieces? It is nice to be able to print everything, but that also requires A LOT of patience ... and it isn't necessarily as light or as strong as picking a different material.
