Hi everyone!! This week I designed and built a racing paddle boat that hopefully will perform better than my last boat. It is a differential steering design with a servo actuated linkage system to adjust the height at which the wheels reach the water. Please leave your predictions in the comments because next week we'll try to do a test of this thing.

Thanks!!

RACING PADDLE BOAT

This week I tried to make a racing paddle boat. I know that the expectations aren't that high after the last weird boat fiasco but I'm pretty confident that this one is going to fare much better. Please leave your predictions in the comments because next week I'll probably do a test of this thing in the water to see how it performs. Well, I don't expect much speed change with bigger "paddle-wheels" - they will be "in the shadow" of the hull... and therefore don't get much water to work with... But surprise me :-) ;-) I do like the design and aesthetic of the boat!

Maybe extending the paddle-wheels inwards instead of outwards (as Logan Vinson suggest) will have greater impact on the speed. But as you wrote, you'll start with the narrow wheels and judge the "bite"...

Aren't you worried about the batteries heating up too much due to the narrow space and no ventilation? I am not very experience with that large battery, so I'm just guessing
