"He was very famously Goku" already took me out. Eric, I still get a kick out of the Dragonball reaction with you not knowing too much about it, but being plagued with that specific piece of Justin Chatwin knowledge. I swear it's not the first time you've brought up that DBE movie in a different track in recent memory LOL

claire

miles making fun of eric’s ootd log as if he wasn’t called out on the headgum mario kart live stream for wearing his one blue sweater

Man, you guys had me cracking up with the intro and by the first half-hour of the track, I hadn't laughed that hard in quite a while. Thank you for that after a tough couple weeks, I always appreciate you two <3 Also, thank you for mentioning the Universal set because the first time I went in '14, I literally took that damn trolley 3 times that same day, so that was funny when you mentioned: "Who knew that right next door...is Whoville?" omg

When starting this, I realized that I'd only seen the Scary Movie parody of this movie and then spent half of the track laughing and the other half trying to not be as scared as I was

People always complained about the kids in this movie being fucking annoying, but I always had a sneaky appreciation for this movie showing what it would ACTUALLY be like for families evacuating a crisis.

Quentin

eric’s clothes log giving the wardrobe from clueless vibes

Quentin

also i hadnt seen a single tom cruise movie before pmi started the mission impossible films and i didnt think much of him back then but god after all the mission impossibles, top gun and this im like. he kinda might be my favorite actor bc you were so right when you said hes the coolest guy ever if you just ignore some stuff cause if it werent for who he was as a person he’d be king of the world for real

Dane Yurchak

favorite tom cruise movie. The tripods are an underappreciated "creature" design. Just wish the aliens looked better, but their cuteness kinda makes their actions a little more disturbing.

Simon

Holy crap, the whole "getting excited about being wrong" bit had me in stitches! I've totally known people like that, and it always goes a bit further, like "Oh yeah, YEAH! It's I Am Legend! Yeah, that's right... Put THAT on!" Like dude, no. We're an hour into this movie, I'm not turning it off to put on I Am Legend. And then they're pissed off for the rest of the movie that we're not watching I Am Legend.

Damnit Eric! *Sings America's Sweetheart from start to finish*

Seeing a movie track with Miles that doesn't have "Baby Geniuses" in the title is healing.

My name is very fucking Tom Cruised!

Great friggin flick. Apparently during the promotion of this movie is when Tom was going on his scientology rants, and that's when Spielberg decided to never work with him again. However, I think Spielberg has changed his tune recently considering he's the one who went up to Tom during the Oscar party and told him that he saved cinema lmao. Would be cool to see them work again. Side note, rumors are floating around that Tom might have a role in Tarantino's upcoming final film, alongside Brad Pitt. Side side note, just reactivated my Patreon subscription and now have a ton of backlog movies/shows to watch. Bring on Percy Jackson!

And holy hell I've only ever seen this movie like one time, when I was 7 or 8. Scared the everlasting fuck out of me. Just in terms of scale, sound etc of the alien machine things. I 100% agree though, when the aliens are revealed, it gave me a bit of an "aw man :/" feel. I think they should've kept them way more obstructed, or not shown them at all.

This was great, found another comfort track that I’ll watch a bunch more times. These are really hitting the spot.

I’ll never forget sitting in the theater to see Fantastic Four (lol) and a theater worker walked to the front of the screen and invited us to all stay for the next movie (War of the Worlds) for free? My mom and I decided why not and went into it completely blind, needless to say we were completely blown away

Alesha Kenaley

i love that you guys either completely blocked Baby Geniuses from your memories and forgot Justin Chatwin was in the second one or simply refused to acknowledge it
