Also, just a fun little tidbit, Jake Abel who played Luke was the abusive husband at the beginning of Malignant

also this was my first time watching the movie since it came out and man I forgot that like 75% of the movie was just made up and not from the book; Made me realize how better the series is as an adaptation

Book readers absolutely hated this movie, the disney plus show is being treated as the chance to get it right

1. So this movie came out when i was 10 and it was everything i needed it to be and i fell asleep to it every night for years literally nothing brings me comfort like this movie, i never read the books and i couldn’t care less 2. Beyond the personal connection i still think it’s very entertaining, i love the 2010ness of it and every actor kills it and the effects are great, from what I know of the story a lot of the changes made sense for a film adaptation when u don’t know if ur gonna be able to make any more movies 3. I’m glad u guys pointed out some of my favorite aspects like the extras and the effects with the fury in particular and the acting being great and the soundtrack being iconic 4. Idk if you have filmed the tracks for the show yet or not i feel like you probably have, i honestly think you might be getting the last of used again, it’s rlly not gonna be anything special if u aren’t invested in the source material (i don’t think that’s true for the last of us i just think ur gonna have a similar experience)

You should give the books a shot. And I don’t mean that in a ‘ugh if you like the movie you should get the real story’ kinda way. I just know I had the same experience with the Harry Potter movies as you and PJ where I had no interest in the books cause the movies were my comfort. Then after the last movie came out I finally decided to read the books just cause they were now the only way to get more HP in my life, and it ended up being a pretty good time. I liked getting to see these stories I loved told in a different way. Still very much prefer the movies, but seeing the other side was fun. Also I agree about your the last of us comparison with these tracks, but still think they will be worth it to see a show opinion from a non book/movie lover. For us I mean. For Eric, maybe not so much…

im pretty sure grover is twice the age of percy/annabeth but still looks young like it's a satyr thing.....they do this much better in the show where he actually looks 12 like the other characters but is actually 24....so it's technically not weird for all the women to be fawning after him

Not only did I forget that Poseidon was played by the actor who plays freaking Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy, but this is weirdly giving me soft Invincible vibes when it comes to the father/son dynamic or understanding their powers, except at least Omni Man gave us great character progression and background within an episode or two, rather than Poseidon being like "and I oop, sorry, I just couldn't see you cause generational trauma, and tradition, I guess" I read the first book once in middle school and remember being obsessed with the Casino scene, but ngl, Uma Thurman ATE as Medusa. Still, not surprisingly, Uma is fan-fucking-tastic in anything she's cast in.

i think the thing with the mics are active mic vs passive mic. when you hold a mic it makes you actively think about talking and making jokes where as the passive mic is just happening to capture what you say.

Idk how to respond directly to the response but @AMD i might read them! I still have the percy jackson books i bought when i was 10. And yeah i definitely think it’s a worth while track and everyone’s gonna have a good time i just can’t imagine Eric being liked super invested in it as ppl who have read the books
