What's your favorite Scream movie?

Alright, I'll admit it: I'm a fake ass horror fan. The only Scream movie I've seen is the first, and it was so long ago I barely remember it. But it's finally time to right this wrong.

In preparation for a brand new entry in the series, I marathoned Scream 1, 2, 3, and 4 from the comfort of my new van Ruth. Less comfortable? The various creepy parking lots I sat around in all night. But hey, couldn't have picked a better spooky setting to watch these movies in!

And then I watched the new Scream.

Like, the NEW one.

Scream 5.

That's right, folks. Ruth and I hit up drive-in to watch the fifth installment on opening night, and now you can watch along with my commentary track in the theater! Or you can wait til the movie is streaming, I guess. Or maybe you're reading this in the year 2050 and nothing matters!

I had an absolute blast finally catching up on this series, as well as recording my first ever drive-in commentary track, and I hope you enjoy the shit out of it!!!

*Eric talking about Rose McGowen* "She kinda reminds me of Judy Greer" *me laughing because Rose was in Jawbreaker with Judy Greer*

Liz Harding

Whoa we're the same age and you reminded me of how many little kids wore the mask before any of us saw the movie! Oh and I also saw multiple Scary Movies before I saw the real movies they were based on lol

The Scary Movies were the reason I knew the twist of this movie

Allie

Love these movies and can't wait to watch the rest of the tracks! Ironically, you may not remember who Rose McGowan is BECAUSE of Harvey Weinstein :/

Alec Figueroa

oh my god the fucking poetry of Eric getting terrified of ghostface being under the car so he turns and looks out of his windows the same way Sidney does so he misses the trunk opening the same way Sidney does lmfaooo he's like "how did he get in there??" its perfect

Alec Figueroa

also it was fantastic that you didnt remember there being two killers, loved that you literally didnt remember until it was revealed

Henessy Garcia

I have marathoned the Scream movies so many times (and cannot wait to add the new Scream to the lineup). So excited you released commentary tracks for this franchise, my all time favorite horror franchise! And some of the first few that scared the shit out of me when I was too young to be watching these thanks to my dad 😂

Fun fact: I also felt like a fake horror fan because I'd never seen the Saw movies; I certainly wouldn't have if not for your commentary. Scream, however, I absolutely adore, only the first one is a masterpiece, but I can't say I don't love them all and remember way too much about them. "...Blondie" will always send a chill down my spine, even though I know it's just two dickbag highschoolers; it's such an incredible scene. God bless ya for watching this in your van! And giving some voice to a non-familiar but fun and smart perspective seeing the movie haha. Also, Rose McGowan, who plays Tatum, is kind of a horror movie veteran - she just never plays main roles (one of the first girls to die in Death Proof is what I always remember) and yes, I imagine you already know this at this point considering you've watched a bunch of these since posting this - but just in case: Ghostface's voice is ALWAYS done by Roger L Jackson. And the man in the costume doing the stunts is always a tall, buff, tattoo'd stunt man, so like... Nowhere near who the killers are supposed to be 90% of the time haha. But I like to reconcile it all by thinking there's like one entity being Ghostface that really has it out for Sidney and possesses tons of people in her life..? Maybe? I dunno. I just love this series and like to try and justify its ridiculousness. Thanks for the track!
