Ayyyy where all my League of Legends fans at?!

Alright, what the hell is Arcane? It's like a video game show or some shit?

I'm going into this as blind as humanly possible, and I better be impressed because supposedly it unseated Squid Game as the most popular Netflix series...

I know you were joking about how this is like if Fortnite got a series, but Fortnite does actually have a storyline. It's pretty fucking crazy, it even has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in it.

A few things to clear up for you Eric lol. As a League player, I was super keen for the show but many of my mates who know nothing about it have equally enjoyed the show. League has a large amount of lore behind it and this show is esentially a prequel for some specific characters from the game but also introduces many new characters. Because the game has so much world building it was easy to build a story based on the lore alone, whereas the actual game doesnt have a storyline like you imagine Uncharted or something to have. No the animation does not look anything like the game. No it's not a mobile app lol it is a PC game that came out in like 2009ish. I really hope you enjoyed the rest of the series, super keen to watch it with you!

League of Legends doesn't have a story. It's just a 5v5 multiplayer game where each character has different abilities (Mouser is similar to one of those abilities). Those characters also have a backstory/lore which isn't necessary to know to play the game, just extra content. That's why you don't need to play the game to watch. I bet a majority of the playerbase doesn't even care about the lore tbh.

Okay since you asked league of legends is a game much like fortnite or cs where there isnt lore in the base game (Only being voice lines and characters) Though riot decided to make some lore through stuff like short stories and so on. The show itself is set before the current time in game. The reason why a show was made was because the lore was surprisingly good and they started making cinematics which made fans say "Make an anime" Which became a meme in the community, but they slowly expanded more and more on lore adding events in the game based on the lore and making not just short stories, but comics too with the help of Marvel
