Well I guess I'm officially watching Shadow and Bone now, huh? A lot of folks said it picked up as it went on, so let's find out whether or not that's a bullshit lie.

Your reaction to the show is EXACTLY my reaction to the books. I loved The Crows' story (the spin-off series), but the Shadow and Bones series with Alina wasn't as fun for me :/

Also, Nina's story is in Six of Crows with the rest of the cool kids as well. To answer your question and if I'm remembering correctly, Kaz and his crew crossed the fold to get to Alina. They just want to bring her back to the guy that hired them for a million Kruge. The plan at this point is to find a way into the Little Palace somehow.

More answers: When Alina gets rid of her scar it actually is related to Mal. She kept it as a reminder of him, but now she is coming to the conclusion that in order to get rid of the fold, save war-torn regions, etc she has to rid herself of her attachments to her old life. So, she asks to have the scar removed. That's also why they are hiding the letters from her. To manipulate her into forgetting Mal. Were there any other things you were confused about? I can't remember lmao
