You thought Artemis Fowl was bad? Oh hunny.

Cirque du Freak is one of my favorite book series, as well as one of the worst movies I have ever seen. And it wasn’t enough for me to make you suffer through it with me, I also dragged Miles along. Godspeed.

Consider this the beginning of spooky season on PMI! 🎃

Jess Crossley

I read the entire series over the summer solely based on Eric's recommendation on the Twilight tracks lmao so seeing this in my inbox had me way too excited. The actual movie was such a letdown but the commentary made it worth it!

FrickinKirb

Even after all this, I would still pay to hear Eric read the book series

Atina

Really? Which country? I'm having trouble. :(

Nepworks

i thought Evra looked familiar with his mannerisms and whatnot. it's fucking patrick fugit! he is literally just playing william with snake skin.

Jordan Yampolsky

also i'm pretty sure that crepsley & murlaugh keep licking their hands in the fight scene because they're throwing knives at each other and then catching the sharp side of them? so they have to use their super spit to heal the cuts on their hands?

Katie Holmes

why did i have an entirely different perception of this movie when i saw it forever ago like literally i remember nothing that happened in this movie i thought josh hutcherson was a zombie by the end???? my brain just made its own version of after it in theaters i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cassie

I read these books forever ago so just an explanation, the big twist is that Darren and Steve are actually brothers. Their father is Tiny who managed to get his jizz in both moms to make it happen. The whole thing was orchestrated by Tiny so that's why Darren writes the story in books because Tiny hates books and refuses to read them so Darren figures Tiny won't ever find out. There's a big war fight at the end and basically everyone fucking dies so thats why Tiny turns him into Harkat and Darren/Harkat goes back in time to try to help himself back then. Also yes Rebecca is an entirely different character than Debbie which I assume they did because Debbie was introduced in the 3rd book but they needed a love interest in this for some reason.

Honestly, when I heard they were making a movie of the book series, I was so excited! Then I saw the cast and I thought, YES! Willem Dafoe as Mr. Crepsley is perfect casting! Then I read the actual cast list and was super disappointed! Still saw this in theaters with a foolish hope that it might be good, but it brought back memories of Dragonball: Evolution. Not good...

Camara Fairweather

These books meant everything to me when I was younger. They were so good and this movie was the first time I felt truly disappointed as a child. It was so lame haha
