Eh, why not?

In case this wasn't already made abundantly clear, Kick-Ass is one of the most fun and exciting movies I've ever seen and it makes me cry every time I watch it.

The same can't be said for Kick-Ass 2, even if I do think of it as a vague Cry_Wolf reunion...

This sequel literally only has one thing going for it. What it lacks in heart, energy, laughs, tone, pacing, and pretty much everything else, it makes up for with Jim Carrey. In fact, he's so good that he actually makes the rest of the movie even worse. Why is he giving it his all when nobody else is? How did they get him to sign on for this?

And did you even realize that was Jim Carrey until now? Because I know lots of people still can't recognize him!

If you haven't already watched Kick-Ass with my commentary track, I recommend watching these in reverse order so you can end on a high note.

This movie was rooooough. But I love the idea of you bringing a date back to the van and the only piece of decoration you have is a framed photo of Big Daddy... also I got so excited at the idea of a second Cry_Wolf commentary, I'd love to see that happen!!

Did you see Wadlow's new movie Fantasy Island? That would make a good commentary track. It's pretty bad.

Completely agree with everything you said in this track. Like you, I was obsessed with Kick-Ass and this one was so disappointing as a sequel. Honestly wish you'd directed it with the notes you gave, you hit the nail on the head why this one was so bad! Also, as someone from the UK, seeing Union-J in this (who'd just won the X-Factor that year) was fucking surreal in a bad way.

I first watched Kick Ass because you recommended it years ago. It's now one of my all time favourites. I remember Kick Ass 2 being painful to sit through. Can't wait to watch it again!

God the Mindy arc is so bad. The creators clearly learned all about teenage girls from crappy movies. I remember being so disappointed in this film and what Hit Girl turned into here.

The attempted rape arc is such a misfire. Are we supposed to think its funny that he is "emasculated" in his attempted raping? So weird and people complain Mark Millar throws in rape too casually, that it is almost always to motivate male characters associated with the victims with little thought of how horrific the affects are to the victims.
