Sorry guys, no new track this week...

LOL I'm just fuckin with ya, daddy!

To celebrate the ten year anniversary of its release in theaters, I decided to watch one of my all-time favorite movies... Kick-Ass!

If you've been following me since I started Pretty Much It back in 2010, you're likely already aware of my love for Kick-Ass. It's one of the earliest movies I remember seeing an absurd amount of times in theaters, as well as the very first movie I ever saw at SXSW, so it holds a special place in my heart.

And boy does it show! Can we get some tissues in here?! I mean that music! C'mon!!!

I was super excited to watch Kick-Ass again for the first time in a few years - save for that one scene I look up on YouTube all the time just to feel something for a change - and I hope you're excited as well. Now bring it on!!

- Eric

PS. Here is the Kick-Ass 2 review I mentioned in the track in which you can see the mask I bought off eBay...

Tardisinthesky

I kind of hate that I read this in erics voice

Hjalmar Andersen

i genuinely enjoy it when you do commentaries on movies you love. the "Signs" is like one of my favorite tracks of yours.

German Puebla

I remember you got me interested in this when you talked about the trailer back in the Ericwithnok days and I fell in love with it.

Shannon

Yeah I’d love some old shit that you had watched and reviewed and revisit it today. This is awesome!!

James Chesney

Thank god! If you redo back to the future alone imma cry.

jacob

social network commentary i would cum

Morgan Peters

Damn I haven't seen this movie in a HOT minute but it had me laughing & crying right along with you. I remember when I first saw this and it made me feel like THE coolest bitch like it's one of those movies that give you such a rush! Also you are 100% right about the jetpack.

Kyle Tenneson

I get just as emotional and empathetic crying for the emotional scenes as well, you're not alone. When I was younger I never cried or got emotional... but it's so easy nowadays for me to understand the sacrifices a character makes/the power of their actions. Fully immersing your emotions into the emotions of the characters is such a great way to watch in my opinion.

James Peacock

Does Jacob have any plans for solo commentary tracks?

Gaby

hell yeah lets kick some ass I haven't seen this since I was 10 and I remember loving it you're killing it with these track choices

Love this movie. Part of me can't believe it's 10 years old already, but then I remember that my original copy of it was from a PSP bundle. Who would've thought UMD as a format wouldn't have lasted lmao. Anyway, keep up the great work and stay safe!

i've seen bits of this movie before, but my first full watch was with you and i definitely don't regret it! i'm not good at watching movies alone. i can't stay focused and not having to watch in silence helps so much more! it was fun hearing the way the crowd reacted to certain things at your first viewing. i also agree with the gay bit ending better in the comic storyline! much more fitting and appropriate. no girl would make out with a guy who omitted the fact that he's not gay after he's used it to see her naked. that being said.... kickass is definitely a new favorite. also! have you seen mom and dad? it's on hulu and has nick cage, i'm watching it right now and can just hear how you would react to the way it's shot, edited, and the music cues!!

Damn this reminded me how into Kick-Ass I was back in 2010. I remember the sequel having the working title "Kick-Ass: Balls 2 the Wall" for the longest time and thinking that would be the worst part about the sequel. Then I saw the Union J scene..

prettymuchit

i dont recall exactly what that scene is but for some reason it made me cringe so there must be some memory buried deep inside me

sorry i didn't reply sooner i was in therapy

Rosi J Porcayo

Dude you crying is making me cry

claire

can't believe they ripped off sky high during the jet pack scene

Rae

I definitely did cry Eric! also the jetpack wasn't that lame, it would have been more lame if it didn't have the Gatling guns on it.
