Eric & Miles spent a full day binging this series Dirty John (available on Netflix). It's based on a podcast that is apparently good but you'd never know it if you only watch the show. Luckily it also acts as a prequel to Ang Lee's Hulk so it has that going for it!

"THIS PODCAST IS GOOD?" Yeah. It is. I listened to the podcast but this is my first time viewing the show, and that's why it really sucks. The people involved are interviewed well in the podcast, and when they are (frequently) stupid, the podcast creators deftly explore the psychology of that stupidity... or just let it speak for itself. They must be so bummed.

The original six-part article by the Los Angeles Times is pretty good as well. The biggest difference between the show and the original reporting is, it's way more sympathetic to the "heroes." The article never outright says, "Debra's an idiot and these people are obscenely privileged," but you can tell that's what the reporter is thinking the whole time. The show would've been a lot better if it was more satirical and pointed about the whole thing.
