看見一位同路人為同路人打氣,引述了以下一段來自冷戰時代,鐵幕捷克斯洛伐克的搖滾樂團的歌詞:

「他們害怕老人的記憶, 害怕年輕人的思想, 害怕墓地的鮮花, 害怕工人,害怕教堂, 害怕所有的快樂時光。 他們害怕電影,害怕畫家, 害怕音樂家,害怕石塊和雕塑, 他們害怕電台,害怕技術, 害怕信息自由流動, 害怕所有的波長, 那麼我們為什麼要怕他們?」

印象中,這段歌詞看過不少次,其實以上只是1/10的節錄。創作歌曲的來自捷克地下樂團「宇宙膠人」(The Plastic People of the Universe),屬於當時捷克首屈一指的地下搖滾樂隊,成員多達數十名,因為歌詞不時被指「顛覆政權」,成員不是被政權拘捕、下獄,哈維爾也曾為其聲援。

以上歌詞節錄,來自以下《The Hundred Points》,刊登自1977年的《國際社會主義期刊》,每一點都是說「他們」害怕什麼、「他們」害怕什麼,今天看來,確實很中。害怕老人的記憶,青年的朝氣,已死的烈士,教會、書本、藝術、科學,電話、電視,左派、右派、自己的家人、朋友、同事、下屬,快樂、悲傷、誠實、理想。假如一個社會,就是產生這些「害怕一切」的人,還有什麼希望?但正是這樣的社會,又何須懼怕?

  4. They are afraid of the dead and their funerals.
