matsumoto coulda easily went the Antonio route in epi2, in fact until this epi i thought it was a plot hole that he did not. Instead of being frustrated by diva and taking away her agency like Antonio did to Ophelia, Matsumoto decides to trust and work with vivy as a partner and considers working with her as much his mission as saving the future. "As a result of your epic calculations, you discarded your partner... Right now, as an AI, you couldn't be uglier." ~chadmoto the diva scene at the end hurts me somewhere deep but i also kind of like this pain. this arc feels based of Hamlet to me and mimics the lessons of ophelia and her father, which is that a love based off of controlling that person can be very harmful and lead to that person' downfall. I enjoy how the real ophelia is in a white innocent dress but after antonio takes over she wears like black funeral clothes. Her songs are about rain and a 'crown of water' and she is also seen falling into water or soaking wet; i think thats a reference to how the Ophelia from hamlet drowns (spoilers for shakespeare i guess...)
