My understanding of the relationship revealed here is that Helga (Thorfinn' mom) is the daughter of Thorkell' brother, who is the leader of the jomvikings. So Thorkell is Helga' uncle, which would make Thorkell Thorfinn' great uncle? but I think the point is that the two dueling are related by blood, and Thors married up. I am not sure who the jomvikings are in comparison to all these other counties tho, I think they are just renowned mercenaries? This was probs explained way earlier and I just forgot. We really got a party goin, Canute balls dropped, One eye Thorkell is now on our side, Askeladd' cunning always wins the day, and we got our protag' plot armor, we cant lose!
