The pairing is one of my favorite things about each arc, you're left wondering each time about how each character would interact with another and it's very good to see them play it out. Which also creates separate mini plots under the main one where everyone is busy doing their thing.

To the viewers: I understand we're all excited they're watching a show that we love but guys please refrain from giving any details that you definitely know will be explained/will be important later (that also includes first mentions of new characters, please let them figure everything out themselves)

I just want to touch on your critics on the story. They are totaly justifyed for most part! One thing I quickly realised when instarted watching one piece is that I would need to use headcanon fornthings to make sense once in a while. And story is still great. Psdl Drum kingdom is for me one arc that made me one piece fan not just someone who watches the show

We’re the same way with drum island. I say it in the reaction, but this is the first arc where I feel like Oda genuinely crafted a twist and reveal with intentionality. Rather than making use of what he had already done, and cleverly cobbling everything together to make it fit. In this case, he still clearly was trying to figure out how to make everything work with the island, but around the time of the avalanche, it’s very clear that he ‘found the story’ or the act, and from that point on, he worked toward the conclusion with intention, and everything just felt better in general. And yeah the headcannon thing is a huge deal. Because we’re doing a review, we try not to do that on purpose, because we’re trying to appraise the work honestly (since we do this for dozens of different shows) So I think the vast majority of people would either come up with headcanon , or just not notice some inconsistencies or random little nitpicky things cause they don’t really matter. While we have to kind of point them out and just see them at face value. Well I guess we don’t HAVE to, but it’s more fair in terms of a review to do so. So that can cause frustration for some people like you said

I love it. We really appreciate it, cause it’s a really easy and effective way to grow the characters naturally. As an author, creating situations where characters are forced into unlikely pairings forces you to think about how each character would respond to situations, which basically forces the author to create patterns in their characters intentionally that can stick for a long time. In stories where the writer doesn’t do this, characters become much more flat, and they end up responding to situations the same way any other character might if put in the same circumstance.
