Pretty sure the "kitchen" thing is a mistake and that's still Malevolent Shrine <_< Not sure why they said that. PS: I'm really upset with the ongoing situation at Mappa (it's been an issue for a long time now). What I'm afraid of, is that I seriously doubt things will improve, even though I appreciate that animators dare complain about their work conditions somewhat.

Megumi was actually about to summon it in at least 2 occasions in season 1, vs Sukuna in episode 5 and the special grade curse in episode 23. You can watch it back.

Just fyi, many other Jjk fans are confused as well, because the translation for some things changed all of a sudden. ‚Malevolent Shrine‘ was still called shrine not ‚kitchen‘ in the manga. Also ‚Makora‘ was called ‚Mahoraga‘ (which sounds a lot cooler imo). And regarding Sukunas technique the slash called ‚fillet‘ was actually ‚cleave‘ and ‚dissect‘ was called ‚dismantle‘. Not sure if it’s just a mistake or the changed it deliberately. I think they changed it on purpose, because Megumi and the narrator clearly say Makora. Plus I don’t think they‘d make so many mistakes at once lol. But the reason behind it? Idk… Anyways, you guys are spot on. Mahoraga is so OP, cause it can adapt to literally anything if given enough time to do so. Now think back to all the times Megumi was about to whip this bad boy out (there were quite a few moments across the whole show). That thing would‘ve probably smoked everyone except Gojo

Based on what they said in the beginning of the episode Megumi's ancestor called Mahoraga to subjugate it, but really just let it loose on the Gojo Clan leader and himself. They both died, and nobody ever subjugated Mahoraga.

You can tell how much the animators care about the project and how skilled they are even from looking at unfinished work. MAPPA needs to get it together! What their workers have been made to do is not sustainable!

say what you will about the animation of this episode but this 24 minutes of animation is 100x better then the animation for the 1 hours 24 minutes of the final episode of aot 🥱

Thats because youre reading the un-official translations, while malevolent shrine supposed to be a shrine not kitchen Makora was always makora.

2023-11-17 13:18:56 Listening to the end discussion I can definitely tell the mappa situation heavily influenced your view of this episode. From the perspective of an average viewer who doesn't critique animation unless its incredibly bad I think this was a fantastic episode even if the animation could have been better. This seemed like the peak of the arc and we'll most likely get more dialogue episodes after this if I had to guess. I will say though I'd rather the animators take a long break and come back under better conditions. They definitely deserve better. I'd be fine with a 6 month break if jjk if it means the animation quality can be the best it can be.
