I'm not sure if either of you will read this comment before watching episode 2 of When They Cry New, but you might want to consider reacting to or checking out the original Higurashi series before watching this new season of it because I'm not sure if this is a good jump in point for new viewers and I can't really say why because it's a spoiler. What I can say is this second episode is a massive deviation from the second episode of the first series. Whatever you decide to do with When They Cry is fine by me, because I'm still interested in you checking out the series, but just letting you know so you can decide what you want to do.

Yeah we ended up not reading this until right after we finished the episode... Thanks for trying to warn us though. We still haven't decided fully what we are going to do now because from what people are saying it would have been better to watch s1 before this ep but since weve already seen it there's not much point so we might as well continue with this season
