Plans for September & More (Patreon)

Hi peeps, just some words for the month and going forward

So I've been thinking about it, and I need to switch things up a bit. I've loved working on all the content I've made since I started Patreon, drawn a bunch of new characters, and gotten to work on perfecting a bunch of oldies too, but long story short I've been following the same system now for over a year and it's gotten a bit stale. To the point where I kind of dread having to draw whoever wins polls (no matter if I was excited to draw them at the beginning of the month) and it starts to feel like a chore and I lose inspiration, sometimes leading to less than inspired drawings, and long waits at the end of the month for content.

Also, while I love you all and am really thankful for all the money I'm getting through Patreon, it's soon not going to be enough. I plan on moving sometime soon, and coupled with loans, and all of my other standard expenses I need to look for something else in addition to Patreon.

So to keep things interesting for me, and content coming at a regular pace for you I've decided I need to just start drawing more of what I want, when I feel the inspiration to do it. There are a bunch of things I want to work on that I haven't gotten the chance to do and hopefully this will help.

This will mean

  • more smaller drawings with less variations, like you've been seeing recently
  • (for now) more My Hero Academia stuff while I'm obsessed with it lol (I suggest watching/reading, it's really good and you'll enjoy the pics that much more)
  • but also reaching out to different fandoms I want to work on but haven't gotten the chance
  • back to Birdflash OTP drawings!
  • hopefully revisiting some previous pictures to improve on them as well
  • no more polls planned for now, although I'm planning to still have a post where people can comment suggestions on fandoms/ships/characters to draw for the month
  • EDIT: also, raffle pics will not be changing at all, that will remain the same

So I hope you guys stick around! I don't plan on releasing any less content, just re-prioritized to keep it fresh for everyone!

Feel free to comment any suggestions etc for stuff moving forward

You do you bby, no need to feel like obligated to do your art. I love all work you do and you do a lot of variations too, definitely more than needed sometimes!

There is nothing worse for a creative talent, than to be chained into a restricted routine. As a new member, who just got the monthly reward, but can't view on iPad or cell, I am fine with that. ( ish) but someone of your talent must love to create beauty everyday, not feel the obligation, because then it is a chore, not joy.

Thanks! So have you been completely unable to see the rewards? Unfortunately I'm not sure of any way to get them on mobile, I don't mess with mobile stuff really so I have no knowledge. But I know there are some who have gotten past the issue, so if anyone has any suggestions feel free to pitch in!

I would imagine if you're drawing things you really want to draw there's going to be a noticeable level of quality. So if that's what happens and you end up happier I see no issue. Any creative person goes through times of losing motivation or feeling stuck and have to change it up. A year sounds like the right amount of time to be going through that. I'm still gonna be here and more MHA is always a good thing in my book. Your arts also inspiring, I haven't drawn in years but seeing the things you create makes me want to pick it up again, even if I'm not ready for NSFW. It just makes me want to draw.

I am completely iPad and iPhone, saved to drop box, but told to open on my computer. Old desktop that my husband uses, I only do QB bills, everything else Apple products.

I will see if I can open drop box on desktop, but as I travel 70% of year from desk top, not sure when that can happen. Just keep creating, and posting some of the goodies on Tumbler. Your talent is one that should be rewarded, that's why I am not so twisted about the monthly.

I'm on android so I may not be much help but are you just unable to extract from the zip file? Because if that's the case you probably just need to download an additional application. WinZip is probably the most common and should have an app, I think some people I know used iZip in the past.

I completely support you and you wanting to relax before you burn yourself out, but I'm just curious about what's gonna happen to patreon. Are your levels of donation gonna change, even just temporarily?

atm no real changes are planned, just doing content a bit differently to keep me in it. Tiers and stuff like that are going to remain the same for now

I actually think this is great! I might like this better than the old method. And inspired work is always much better than required work, but im not sure if your work can get any better 😂 im excited to see whats in store 💚 maybe i'll finally start filling my sketchbook or laptop with some drawings myself! 😁👍🤙

I say, draw what you wish. The greatest art is when emotional investment is present. I must admit. I love it when you draw a fandom that I already know and love. But honestly, you have suckered me into other fandoms... whatever you do is enjoyable and is, in a word, 'priceless'.

Oh I'm sure all of us will totally support you. I always wondered how long you will be able to continou this. Let's just say that sometimes your seemed kind of stressed out... at least a bit :D Also a little change kerps thing interessting and so I really don't care. Anyone who's on an apple device, and wants to download stuff, I recommend IZip
