Hello Orcs!

I'm cumming with news about Terry and the... cold pizza !

I've had to backtrack on the name, for a reason I'll explain later in this update. I'm sorry in advance if this update seems somewhat disjointed at times, as I'm missing some elements that will be presented in a future update. Also, this is still pre-prod and I've sometimes created things that aren't always the most relevant or that will be changed/improved. But I wanted to show you what I've created, because I think it's still interesting.

Back with the original name

Originally, I wanted to tell the story of a young gay man who moves to the city with his best friend, goes through life's trials and tribulations while living with a demon... The new version of the script wasn't bad in my eyes, on the contrary, but it probably strayed a little too far from what I'd planned. In short, the name will remain Terry and the cold pizza, and you'll still be playing a pizza delivery boy, based on the story I'd originally written. I just intend to put less emphasis on dungeons, as I had planned when I took over the project, even if the deck-building aspect will remain there.

Blurville

I've finally finished a V1 of Blurville!

It's been a very (very) long process, and I can't remember spending so much time on a single image. There were two previous versions, one of which was a little too European, and probably didn't fit in with the universe I wanted to tell... I inadvertently overwritten the old versions of the town, but I found a screenshot I'd sent in a discussion.

The second version of Blurville

The city will undoubtedly continue to evolve during production, so I chose not to add any shadows for the time being to facilitate movement and future changes. My file currently contains several hundred layers, and even though I've organized everything meticulously, it's a complete mess...!

Bestiary

Here are the first 5 enemies I've created. Thanks again to the people who voted in the last poll to choose which ones I should draw hot scenes with!

The first version of the dungeon (abandonned idea)

This is my first version of the dungeon, which I won't be using in the end. I was inspired by the Rogue lite/deck building games Slay the Spire and Last evil. I didn't keep this dungeon, the main reason being that I don't want the dungeon sessions to be too long, and to keep a certain balance between Terry's pizza deliveries and his battles against the mobs. Dungeons will therefore be replaced by “battle alerts” which will appear on the city map, and players will be able to choose whether or not to participate.

Plasma (abandonned idea)

In my first version of the dungeons, I wanted to indicate that a dungeon was available by showing plasma dripping into the scenery. This meant that a breach to the underworld had been opened, and that a dungeon was available. This plasma is somewhat sticky and warm, but very pleasant to the touch.

Hotscenes in the dungeon (poll results)

In the dungeon's “rest” area, the player had to be able to sleep with enemies in addition to regaining life. Since I needed to be able to reuse these hotscenes in several dungeons in different settings, I came up with the idea of using plasma at the bottom of each hotscene. I don't think it was a bad idea, but it would look repetitive in the long run. I'm still going to keep these hot scenes, but as I'm not keeping the dungeon concept, the plasma will be replaced by scenery throughout the city, such as in an abandoned alleyway, in the nature park, in public toilets etc.

The combat system and the first cards

Here's some cards of the starting deck! Simply drag the cards over the enemy to apply their effects. The aim is to excite the enemy to eliminate him. At the end of each battle, you'll get money to buy new cards, as well as experience points to use on the cards you want to boost.

Stimuli: As in Robin Morningwood, stimuli are used to fill the enemy's bar until they cum.

Shield: Allows you to cancel some damage that you'll suffer on your next turn.

Focus: Targets hit by focus receive 50% more stimuli.

Burn: Depending on the number of burns, the target takes X Stimuli each turn.

Resist: Power that allows you to gain an extra shield each time you obtain shields. Cumulative.

Weakness: targets affected by weakness inflict 20% fewer Stimuli.

That's all for this update!

There's still a lot I'd like to tell you about, but I'm waiting until I've created all the images relating to these subjects. For the time being, I'm going to have to go back to Surviving Purge for a while, so I don't know if there'll be a Terry update next month.

See you soon with the Surviving Purge demo!

Take care <3

is there going to be any human like characters besides the mc?

Omar

You guys are driving me nuts with this! There is not a single thing I don't like in these progress updates

grizzlygamer

Absolutely. I didn't share it yet, but around half of the dateable characters will be humans actually :)
