Alpha Flag: Golf - PDF Download (Patreon)

I've been working on remastering Alpha Flag pages for modern tablet screens, so if you prefer to read your comics on a device, this release is for you! It also means there are finally some PDF versions of Foxtrot and Golf coming down the pipeline. And also, also means that the full bleed pages in Golf get a little extra love than they do on the site--when the Diver encounters the cabin, for example.

Since this cover was a particularly complicated composition for me to wrap my head around, I drew a bunch of little studies of the elements I wanted on the page, digitally composited them, and printed the composite out big so I could lightbox some finished lineart onto the page I would later ink. Here's the little sketch of The Diver I used, before his face got obscured.

This chapter was the first one back after the big hiatus, too, so this cover was a massive mental hurdle for me to overcome. I wanted to get it right, so I kept doing (obsessing over) thumbnails for about two years.
