"Ferrochrome" - xii.1-2 (Patreon)

I've been weighing the pros and cons of just how uh Utena I've wanted to make this scene since the original concept and I guess we'll find out if it swerves after this opening spread.

I was on my school's (not great) Men's Épée team in college, so I wanted to put some of my university's Pereira-designed concrete waffle ceilings into the backgrounds mixed with the shifting architecture of Ōtori Academy in its movie incarnation here. Both were really big in my life at the time, so it seemed right to be a little self-indulgent and blend them here.
