I'll be running through the drawing process of this graphic novel from start to finish as I draw it, starting now with the rough pages that I've already drawn so far.

The early few pages of the roughs were when I was working under the assumption that I'd be doing a "thumbnails only" run through of the entire book. As I drew more of it, it became clear that I was going to end up drawing everything in greater detail, so bear that in mind with these first few pages.

Where we meet the protagonist, Will and his sister, Rhea! Drawing it in this rough form made it so I didn't really have a clear idea in my head (or more importantly, on paper) what these characters' faces would look like, so it became a gap that I'd stumble with a few paragraphs later when his sister returned in a different costume.

As you can see this phase was originally almost entirely about planning the layouts and the visual flow of the conversation.

I think ultimately, once I've drawn all 150 pages, I'll go back and add an establishing shot of the city to start on. It doesn't read right to me to start on the characters and have this be our first city shot, but that's just an aesthetic choice really.
