The only way you can hear the heartbeat is if you're in a position where you're pretty much laying your ear flat towards the chest. That would be extremely uncomfortable for one- quq... And even then- it's not too loud-... plus you'd only really hear it in one ear.

I find that such SFX is more distracting than relaxing.
