This is such a good movie for Halloween or Christmas time. I watched it when I was little and now my nephews and nieces love it. The musical artist is Danny Elfman, who worked with Tim Burton on movies like the original Batman and Beetlejuice.

What's this? What's this! Thank you!! So this technique is called Stop Motion Animation. They build everything in real life small models (the characters, the sets) and then they film each little movement 1 frame at a time. There are 24 frames in 1 second of film. That means it took 109,440 shots to make The Nightmare before Christmas. The process unbelievably slow and exacting, but we get such beautiful animation. oh i bet u did! and yes, it is a good movie for kids also, so they can make a clear distinction between Halloween and Christmas. and i am not amazed why this was too good. the movies behind the Musical Artist's resume say it all lol
