It was fun to watch you discover this great masterpiece. Godfather Part 2 is a compelling continuation of Michael’s character arc, and includes fascinating flashbacks to explain Vito Corleone’s story beginning as a boy in Sicily. For other recommendations I’d go back to the 1940’s . My top three would be Casablanca (WWII intrigue in North Africa), The Big Sleep ( Private detective caper) and Philadelphia Story ( A romantic comedy that’s still one of the best I’ve seen).

I am a fan of classic movies also. I would suggest The Wizard of Oz, which every American has probably seen, from 1939! Second, the original Die Hard, 1988. It is set at Christmas time, so there is always a fun debate, Is this a Christmas movie? A very popular action movie with a good plot. Third, Some Like it Hot is a comedy from 1959. It is silly and fun, and I swear the outfits Marilyn Monroe wears should be rated For Adults Only!

Marion mentioned Robert Deniro. He is in Godfather Part 2.

Your comments about old movies vs. new movies, old jokes vs. new jokes, especially applies to old music vs. new music. Look at all the reaction sites that are discovering music from the 1960s and 1970s, music that laid the groundwork for subsequent decades. Talented songwriters and musicians who created music, not just copied it. Every time I hear the word "sampled" I cringe. To me it means "I can't think of anything new so I'll just steal it from the people who created the original".

ohhh ofcourse. i mean before people really put Efforts into creating something good.. even if it will take years... imagine if lets say in 1900 musicians would release songs like today... we wouldn't have room for all the music recorded til now... but bcuz they created masterpieces... not just them but poetry, movies included. we can appreciate the real talent and effort.. so many indie movies, or low budget... even some so called ''blockbusters'' are so cheap u can already feel the outcome of the movie or even songs.. the music got so bad that they have to repeat the same word over and over cuz of lack of ideas...
