Colored an old-ish adopt lineart, made it into a mabushippo after all. Up for sale on my DA, if someone's interested. I'll make some more adopts today to avoid ending up starving. :'DD

Curious, I'm still learning a lot about closed species and what not... What is something you wished you knew back when you first made mabushippo? Was making an original species fun?

My species is still lacking development to be honest, one thing I wish for sure is to actually make more of them and rework the reference sheet. :'D There's nothing intimidating in starting your own CS, you draw a first fish-dog-centaur and shortly introduce it, a few people might like it, then you just keep making new ones and hope that it draws attention. People are generally crazy about CS nowadays which I don't understand. I just joined the bandwagon for profit and never had any troubles with selling CS, it wasn't anything special or super fun though, just like making regular adopts.. It's not my deeply beloved hobby, it's just a way to earn money to survive for me. o3o

Thank you for your response! I admire your pragmatism--certainly, I see that fishy doggotaurs abound and sell remarkably well. Can't choose what people want to buy... Something about making something "closed" seems to make it feel rare and special to own.

No problem haha :D There's a few "original" original species, I mean really cool and memorable ideas, don't know about you, but I love minkin, mantibabs, birdfolks and dreamies, off the top of my head. Those guys are doing really good. Who knows, maybe your concept will blow up too, you never know until you try. <3
