In the novel, Jin Zixuan (the one with the red dot on his forehead) has no feelings towards Jiang Yanli (Wei Wuxian's sister) at this point in the story and criticizes her a lot because he thinks she is not worthy to be his wife because she has no power and comes from a lower sect than his (Jin Zixuan's sect is the richest). In the drama, their story is more like the two have secret feelings for each other, but Jin Zixuan doesn't like being forced into marriage and thus rebels (teenage crisis of the ancient time 😂) But in any case in the two adaptations, Jiang Yanli is in love with him from the beginning
